HQ has purchased an annual subscription to Zoom. This is now available to member societies who wish to use Zoom to run meetings, hold events, or keep in touch with members. There will be no cost to member societies and no limit on use. See the Zoom details below and contact the Secretary / Zoom Coordinator on hqzoom21@gmail.com to book.
History Queensland now has a Zoom account for use by member societies, completely free of charge, with no fixed time limits.
HQ recently signed up for a Zoom membership on behalf of all member groups.
Groups will be able to book a time and receive a link to share for their meeting.
You could hold a meeting, do a presentation, or just have a discussion group.
Each meeting can have up to 100 people attending.
To book your Zoom Meeting:
Any society wishing to take advantage of this offer should email hqzoom21@gmail.com to book a time slot.
We have a calendar of meetings so we can manage meeting dates and times and, if there’s any conflict, we will liaise with you about possible changes.
Your request can be for a one-off Zoom meeting or a regular meeting on say 2nd Wed of each month.
One-off Zoom Meeting - please advise;
Once the meeting is scheduled, you will be sent a unique link for that meeting.
You will get this information in a format that you can send to your members.
Please note that for each one-off meeting there is a specific meeting ID.
Regular Zoom Meeting - please advise;
Once the meeting is scheduled, you will be sent the link needed.
You will get this information in a format that you can send to your members.
Please note that for each recurring meeting there is one meeting ID that will be used every time that meeting occurs.
This makes it easier for your members knowing that your meeting ID is always the same.
Preparing your Guests:
Your members will need to download the Zoom application onto the device they intend to use (desktop, laptop, iPad, phone) - https://zoom.us/download.
To join a meeting, they just click on the link you send to them, or type in the meeting ID and passcode.
